Due to Economization and protection of Japanese industries during Kyoho period in Tokugawa era, Shogun Tokugawa Yoshimune ordered all governors (Daimyo and Daikan) to list up their products: crops, flora, fauna, mineral, and animal products. This project had been governed by Niwa Shohaku who was a scholar of natural products, completed several years after 1735 (Kyoho 20th). He had ordered to add drawings whatever he could not verify by himself. Therefore, This set contains three parts: a body, pictures,and index.
