『道徳律詳述』

著者アンドリュース(1555-1626)はウィンチェスター教区監督だった人物。本書は、《モーゼの十戒》を基とした人間社会の道徳律について、聖書のその他の叙述を引用しながら、《十戒》の通り十章に分けて詳しく説き明かしたものである。欽定訳聖書が完成して間もないイギリスにおいて、聖書理解の基本となり、また、実際社会の基本ともなる道徳律に関連したこの著作は、大きな影響力を持った。他に、『祈梼一般に関する19の説教 (A Preparation to Prayer)』と『荒野の誘惑に関する七つの説教 (Seven Sermons on the Wonderfull Combate (for Gods Glory, and Mans Salvation) between Christ and Satan)』を併録。
