当時ロンドンで催されていた最大規模の中国美術博覧会の目録である。その出展品目のはアメリカの貿易商N・ダンのもので、彼が数年間中国に滞在した間に収集したものである。この博覧会は、ロンドンに先立ちフィラデルフィアでも開催されており、そこで同様の目録50,000部が発行された。本書は、その目録を改訂増補したイギリス版。稀覯。
